What I think is great about how Emily Kate works is that she doesn’t try to impose her own style on people, but to make us the best versions of ourselves. I mean, I’m 31 years old. To a large degree, I’ve figured out what works for me and what doesn’t; what I’m comfortable in and what I’m not. But that’s also what worries me–the voice in my head that says this isn’t right for me, I can’t get away with it, it’s too trendy, or, my BIGGEST fear–people will think I look stupid in that.
I have always had a pretty classic style (harder for people to think you look stupid), but have also wanted to be a bit funkier, and maybe even a bit trendier, than I am. (I’m a lawyer who had an eyebrow ring for years and I am convinced that that is still lurking inside of me.) What’s great about Emily Kate is that she has worked with my style and figured out how to accentuate it. I think the best example of this is Emily Kate dragging me, kicking and screaming, into the world of belts. And you know what? Belts DO work! And not just as a way to hold your pants up, but as a way to accentuate, nay, GIVE you, a waist!
The other thing that I think is particularly worth mentioning is how patient she is. We’re not all people who are going to look great in everything and Emily Kate is willing to spend the time trying things on, and giving you an honest opinion. The woman literally watched me try on 30 pairs of jeans one afternoon. And we all know jeans–they are IMPOSSIBLE to figure out without an honest and trusted opinion. It’s 9 months later and literally every time I put on a pair of jeans, I say a thank you that she was willing to do that with me. I often send a text to that effect, and making mention of how good my butt looks in them.

I am thrilled with the overhaul of my closet thanks to Emily Kate! She took a dumping ground for clothes from almost all seasons that had been acquired over at least the last 15 years and made a beautiful, functioning, and modern wardrobe! I am a mom of 2 who needs to have a wardrobe full of pieces that not only go well with each other but also are functional in the different areas of my day- from running errands and attending PTO meetings to playing at the playground and cheering at soccer games. The time I was spending trying to find pieces that met my needs and fit me comfortably was taking too long!
Emily Kate was able to help me sort through the closet and find the gems, the duds and everything in between! It was great to have someone else there who could objectively tell me if something looked good and if something had seen better days. Not only was she able to help me clear out the clutter, she also opened my eyes to the possibilities I had in my closet. Like most women, I am constantly searching for the perfect jeans, with Emily Kate’s assistance I was able to see that several pairs of jeans I had written off shortly after having my second child were actually very flattering since I dropped most (not all yet!) of the baby weight. When those jeans were buried in my overwhelming pile of jeans I had never even considered them – my husband is very happy Emily Kate found them! 
Although I adore my newly cleaned out closet, I would say the best part of the process what that I never felt that my taste or style was being questioned. Emily Kate took into consideration my daily lifestyle and the types of clothing that I am comfortable in and worked my new wardrobe around me. I was given some ideas to look at for future that I was excited to go out and try. Emily Kate was able to give me tips to add a few inexpensive pieces to my current wardrobe to make it a bit more modern and trendy without pushing me out of my fashion or price comfort zone.

Emily Kate helped me pick the accessories for my bridesmaids. In particular, I wanted fascinators in different colors and styles for each bridesmaid. Emily Kate and I met to discuss my ideas. She did a bunch of research on what was out there and sent me several options for each bridesmaid. She found some really wonderful options, at a great price point too. I’m so excited to see it all come together at the wedding.
Emily Kate was extremely helpful, patient and had lots of great ideas and places to look. She made the process seamless. I told her what I was envisioning and the next day she had options for me to choose from. I would most definitely recommend Emily Kate to anyone planning a wedding or just looking for that missing piece to an outfit!
