So today’s “Sounding Off” is much less rant and much more “hey this is what I think, how about you?” Today’s topic – logos. More specifically, loud logos. You know the ones that scream HEY IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING, THIS IS A [Insert designer label here]. I know that to some, it is a status symbol. They want the world to know they wear/carry designer brands (and then there are the fakes, but we won’t get into that today). Others, I suppose, simply like the look of it. Personally, I’m not a big fan. I don’t like feeling like a walking billboard. For example, I personally prefer

Tory Burch Gingham Cuff {$195}; Tory Burch Logo Cuff {$145}

Coach Madison Tote {$278}
and
Prada PR 08OS {$225}; Prada PR 16LS {$235}
I have no aversion to brand patterns or small logos and I even like label monikers on t-shirts. I’m not sure why I make the distinction but I do. For example, I love all of these and if I were independently wealthy and/or won the lottery, I’d buy all of them.

I’m with you, Emily. Definitely NO on visible logos, and especially logo prints (like the Coach bag example above). My only exception is that I would probably wear a scarf in the Burberry check, if I wanted to/was able to spend several thousand dollars on a scarf. But to me, that’s a pattern/motif that just happens to be extremely recognizable, not an actual logo. Great topic!
I agree that it depends on the size and placement of the logo. (I’m definitely with you on the Coach purse!) It really depends for me what the item/logo look like.
so i largely agree with this, except i like the torey burch cuff b/c if you don’t know it’s her emblem, it’s just a pretty design. looks good on a bracelet too! how do you feel about her shoes with it on the toe?
They are ok, but still not a huge fan. I had a pair but got it black on black so the Ts weren’t so pronounced.
